A KIMACT facility is located at a place Ankola 5 Km from the city reasonably far away from residential and sensitive area so that it has minimal impact on these areas. And located near to its area of operation in order to minimize the travel distance in waste collection, thus enhancing its operational flexibility. The location has decided in consultation with the Pollution Control Board (KSPCB).

Ankola city and 10 Taluka of Uttar Kannada District will be having approximately 3026 beds. These beds including Taluka town and Karwar City in the radius of 100 Km (CBWTP shall not be allowed to cater healthcare units situated beyond a radius of 150 Km as per guidelines).
